Pelkey scored the first goal of the game at 10:15, followed by a power-play goal by junior Lisa Kilroy (Leominster, Mass.) at 12:04. Pion added the third goal of the period at 13:03 to put the Spartans on top 3-0.

- O'Connell took the loss and falls to 0-4-0 on the season after making 38 saves through the first 52:41 of the game before freshman
Lauren Bennett (Chicago, Ill.) saw her first collegiate-action, stopping five shots while allowing one goal through the last 7:19.
- Senior goaltender Jess Cameron (Mt. Mellick, P.E.I.) improves to 6-0-0 after making six saves in 39:55 of ice time. Junior Rachael Brazil (Braintree, Mass.) made two saves in 19:58 for the Spartans.
