Lindsay Benoit (Holden, Mass.) won both her singles and doubles matches as the Nichols College women's tennis team defeated Colby-Sawyer 6-3 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon.
The singles win for Benoit moves her into a tie atop the Bison leaderboard for career singles wins with former teammate

Nichols (10-2) began the afternoon by winning two of three doubles matches. Benoit and sophomore
Cristina Szepanski (Windsor Locks, Conn.) defeated freshman Sam White (Stockbridge, Mass.) and senior Oxana Tkachenko (Lviv, Ukraine) 8-4 at No. 2 doubles, while freshmen
Ashley Dallaire (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and
Daniela Saldarriaga (Medellin, Colombia) teamed for an 8-3 win at No. 3 over freshman Christine Hill (Wallingford, Conn.) and senior Ellen Graham (Newburyport, Mass.).
The Charger's (5-5) lone doubles point came at the top spot from duo Ashlyn Ramsay and Ashley Woodside when they defeated freshmen
Lauren Candia (Anaheim Hills, Calif.) and
Alanna Judd (Westborough, Mass.), 8-2.
Judd and Candia rebounded from their doubles loss by winning their singles matches in straight sets. Judd edged Ramsay 6-4, 6-3 at the top flight, while Candia cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles.
Benoit defeated White 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles to give the Bison enough points to clinch the match.
Dallaire battled Tkachenko in a three set match. After each player took a set 6-0, Dallaire won the third 10-4.
Woodside and freshman Lauren Blanchard (Agawam, Mass.) picked up singles victories for the Chargers. After dropping the first set 6-0, Woodside regrouped and took the second and third sets 6-3, 6-2, respectively. Blanchard defeated Saldarriaga 7-5, 5-10 and 10-8 as the darkness became a factor.
The Bison host Curry on Thursday for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match beginning at 8:00 p.m. at the Pomfret School. The Chargers travel to take on Souther Maine on tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.
