Box Score MEDFORD, Mass. – Junior captain
Kathleen Ledbetter (Norton, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season as the Nichols College women's soccer team defeated Fisher 4-0 Tuesday evening in non-conference action at Hormel Stadium.
Ledbetter highlighted a list a three Bison to score their first goals of the season including junior
Lindsey Stewart (Mashpee, Mass.) as well as freshman
Taylor Daniels (Dudley, Mass.) whose goal was the first of her collegiate-career.
Daniels got the scoring started at the 18-minute mark when she headed in a ball off the initial save by freshman Paige Ciavarro (Lynnfield, Mass.). Ledbetter added another in the 32nd minute off of a penalty shot to give the Bison a 2-0 lead going into the half.
Nichols (5-3) continued where they left off when in the 57th minute freshman
Meghan Dunn (Dudley, Mass.) potted her Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) leading 10th goal of the season.
Stewart added in the fourth and final goal in the 86th minute to seal the deal for the Bison. Dunn was credited with the assist on the play.
The Bison outshot the Falcons 34-2 for the game including holding Fisher without a single shot in the first half.
Dunn led the day for the Bison with 11 shots while Daniels provided five and classmate
Danielle Barry (Springfield, Mass.) added four of her own. The Falcons were only able to get off two shots on the game. Sophomore Victoria Park (Lynn, Mass.) had one while freshman Holly Lesperance (Litchfield, N.H.) added the other.
Junior
Kelly English (Mansfield, Mass.) moves to 2-3-0 on the season after playing the first half, while senior
Sarah Whitestone (Dalton, Mass.) picked up the only save on the evening for the Bison. Ciavarro falls to 3-7-0 on the year after stopping 17 shots.
The Bison travel to take on Fitchburg State on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Falcons (3-7-0) travel to take on Vermont Tech on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
