Gordon Holds Off Women's Soccer, 2-1

DUDLEY, Mass. (10/24/2026) - The Nichols College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Gordon College on Saturday at Nichols College Soccer Field.

With the loss, the Bison drop to 2-12-2 on the season, 1-7-1 in Conference of New England (CNE) play. The Fighting Scots improve to 8-5-2 on the season, 6-2-1 in the CNE.

The Bison opened the scoring when Serephine Jodoin found the back of the net to give Nichols a 1-0 lead 9:35 in the 1st half, marking the first goal of her collegiate career. Gordon would respond not long after tying the match 1-1 with a goal from Fighting Scots forward Eowyn Lapp. Gordon would add to that lead with a 2-1 advantage, a margin the Fighting Scots maintained through the final whistle.

Nichols goalkeeper Elizabeth Johnson kept the Bison in the contest with several key saves in the opening half, including 3 consecutive saves in the 41st and 42nd minute of the first half. Johnson also would go on to stop a Gordon penalty kick near the end of the half as the Fighting Scots continued to generate offensive pressure.

In the second half, Nichols looked to find an answer as Rylyn McInnis and Gianna Masciadrelli looked to create scoring opportunities. However, the Bison were unable to find the back of the net again.

Johnson continued to make important stops in the 2nd half, including 4 additional saves from the Fighting Scots trying to stay in striking distance with a one goal deficit.
Despite the defensive effort and late attempts to level the score, Nichols came up short, falling 2-1 to Gordon at home.

The Bison return to action on Tuesday, October 27th, at 7:00 PM against Conference of New England opponent Johnson & Wales University at Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
