Liam Sullivan (Mashpee, Mass.) recorded his first career hat trick in Nichols College's 18-7 loss to Roger Williams University Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Senior Day at Vendetti Field.
Sophomores Will Siefert (Duxbury, Mass.) (5 G, 2 A) and Tim Kelly (Ridgefield, Conn.) (3 G, 4 A) each tallied seven points as the Hawks improved to 12-4 on the season (5-2 CCC). The Bison close their season 3-13 (0-8 CCC).
Ten different student-athletes recorded at least one point for Roger Williams while freshman John Mills (Cohasset, Mass.) picked up five points (4-1-5), senior Todd Carson (Pennington, N.J.) racked up three points (1-2-3), and junior Cameron Signorelli (Albany, N.Y.) netted two goals.
The Hawks scored the first four goals of the contest and led 11-3 at the break. They outscored Nichols 4-1 in the third to build a 15-4 lead heading to the fourth, where Sullivan scored the final two goals of the game to complete the hat trick.
Junior Luke Aubrey (Norwalk, Conn.) made five saves to pick up his 12th win of the season. Freshman
Peter Zygaldo (Hanover, N.H.) stopped 25 shots in defeat.
Roger Williams held a 66-33 edge in shots and forced 29 turnovers. Nichols senior
Brian Girard (Norwood, Mass.) collected a game-high five ground balls while sophomore
Anthony Verville (Portland, Maine) and freshmen
Tyler Sikich (Valencia, Calif.) and
Matt Feigenblat (Shelton, Conn.) each scored one goal for the Bison.
The Hawks will host a CCC Quarterfinal contest this Saturday.
