Box Score DUDLEY, Mass. – Sophomore
Alexa Smith (Salem, N.H.) scored a pair of goals in Nichols College's 17-3 loss to Endicott College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's lacrosse action Saturday morning at Vendetti Field.
Senior Callie Murphy (Woburn, Mass.) recorded three goals and three assists to lead the Gulls (7-1, 2-0 CCC) to their seventh win of the season. Five different student athletes potted two goals for Endicott: junior Ellie Clayman (Beverly, Mass.) and freshmen Emily Cutting (Ferrisburgh, Vt.), Sophia Filippi (Hudson, Mass.), Jessica Buckley (Mansfield, Mass.), and Emily Whitney (Rye, N.H.).
The Gulls led 10-2 at halftime behind three goals from Murphy and two from Whitney. Buckley and Filippi each scored twice in the second half to pace Endicott.
Junior
Alyssa Bufis (Linden, N.J.) scored the other Bison goal while freshman
Katherine Cotton (Kennebunk, Maine) recorded four saves. Nichols was outshot 27-16 and held a 25-24 edge in ground balls, led by five each from senior
Shelby Aminti (Pepperell, Mass.) and junior
Grace Murphy (Montclair, Va.).
Murphy collected a team-high four ground balls for Endicott and also won nine draw controls. Senior Ryan Socolow (Westford, Mass.) made two saves to earn her seventh win of the season.
Nichols (4-3, 0-1 CCC) plays at Western New England Tuesday at 4 p.m. Endicott hosts Wentworth on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
