Dylan Baer (Webster, N.H.) and
Matt Feigenblat (Shelton, Conn.) each picked up a goal and an assist in Nichols College's 14-5 loss to UMass Boston in non-conference men's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon at Vendetti Field.
Senior Tommy Petitti (Quincy, Mass.), junior John Powers (Marshfield, Mass.), and sophomore Noah Ellis (Hingham, Mass.) each recorded a hat trick for the Beacons, who moved to 5-4 with the win. Senior Dom Fichera (Scituate, Mass.) dished out three assists while Powers picked up two helpers and sophomore Craig Freehill (Norwell, Mass.) tallied four saves to earn his fifth win of 2014.
UMass Boston led 3-1 after one behind Powers' 18th and 19th goals of the season. Ellis and Fichera scored second-quarter goals to send the Beacons to the locker room up 5-2. They blew the game open in the third, scoring five times to take a commanding 10-3 lead after 45 minutes of action before outscoring Nichols 4-2 in the final stanza.

Reece O'Connor (North Grafton, Mass.) and freshman
Tyler Sikich (Valencia, Calif.) also scored for the Bison (2-5), who were outshot 47-24 and committed 33 turnovers. Junior
Sean Coates (Grafton, Mass.) led all student-athletes with seven ground balls while junior Daniel Watson (Chapel Hill, N.C.) led all UMB field players with four GB's.

Peter Zygadlo (Hanover, N.H.) made 10 saves for the Bison, who return to action on Saturday when they open Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) competition with a 2:30 p.m. contest against Endicott. The Beacons head to Salem State Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
