PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Sophomore
Benjamin Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) picked up a pair of hits as the Nichols College baseball team was defeated by Otterbein College ,17-0, Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at the Snowbird Classic at North Charlotte County Regional Park.
The Bison had a pair of hits from both Harrow and sophomore
Greg Poll (East Granby, Conn.). Freshmen
Tim Ford (Stafford Springs, Conn.) and
Matt Hardy (North Attleboro, Mass.), along with senior
Shayne McNally (Auburn, Mass.), also picked up hits.
Otterbein (8-4), which received five votes for the D3baseball.com Top 25 poll this week, recorded a season-high 18 hits to go along with a season-high 17 runs. Sophomore Taylor Hutchison (Whitehall, Ohio) had two hits and a game-high three RBI's while sophomore Jacob Reese (Hilliard, Ohio) scored four runs to lead the Cardinals.
Freshman Robert Kemer (Cleveland, Ohio) pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing just seven hits while walking two and striking out five.
The Bison (0-7) will take on Southern Vermont tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. Otterbein will battle Knox tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.
