Wooster thumps Nichols, 12-3

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Nichols College baseball team was defeated by The College of Wooster 12-3 Tuesday afternoon at the Snowbird Classic at North Charlotte County Regional Park.

Nichols (0-6) was led by senior Shayne McNally (Auburn, Mass.) with two hits. Nine other student-athletes for the Bison picked up hits in the game, including freshman Anthony Razzano (Shrewsbury, Mass.) who drove in McNally in the bottom of the eighth on his first collegiate hit.

Wooster (6-3) got a solid pitching performance from senior Matt Felvey (Evanston, Ill.). Felvey pitched six innings allowing just two earned runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out two in picking up his first win of the season.

The Fighting Scots were led in the batter's box by a couple of seniors. Cal Thomay (Middleburg Hts., Ohio) had a pair of hits to go with his three RBI's and Eddie Reese (Canfield, Ohio) walked once and picked a base-hit while driving in three runs and scoring three runs of his own.

The Bison will continue the Snowbird Classic when they take on Otterbein College tomorrow morning at 11:30 a.m. Wooster will take on Birmingham-Southern tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
