PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – The Nichols College baseball team lost 17-9 to SUNY New Paltz on day two of the Snowbird Classic Saturday afternoon at South County Regional Park.

Freshman Jeff Sylvester (Berlin, Conn.) had four hits and four RBI's to lead all Bison hitters. Senior Shayne McNally (Auburn, Mass.) picked up three hits, including the team's first extra-base hits of the season with doubles in the bottom of the fourth and eighth innings.

The Hawks (6-6) struck early and often with four runs through the first two innings and four runs in each of the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. Three different student-athletes had three RBI's including sophomore Tyler Bell (West Islip, N.Y.), junior J.T. Kirk (Lake Grove, N.Y.), and sophomore Taylor Anderson (East New Market, Md.).

Nichols (0-3) plays SUNY New Paltz tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.
