Tosti's hat trick sends Nichols past Fisher, 6-0

Box Score

DUDLEY, Mass. – Junior Alyssa Tosti (Douglas, Mass.) recorded her second hat trick of the season in Nichols College's 6-0 shutout of Fisher College in non-conference women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon at the Nichols Soccer Field.

Sophomore Anjali Rowe (Newington, Conn.) added a pair of goals and freshman Brooke Maher (North Attleboro, Mass.) recorded a goal and an assist as the Bison moved to 5-4-0 on the season while scoring six goals for the second time this season (Wheelock, Sept. 4). Freshman goalkeeper Kourtney Kellard (Danvers, Mass.) recorded 13 saves for the Falcons (3-4-0).

Tosti opened the scoring with her fifth of the season at 8:49, knocking in a cross from junior Bryanna Goodine (Dracut, Mass.). Ten minutes later, Maher ripped a shot from 25 yards out that found the back of the net and doubled the Bison lead.

Rowe's second of the season at 23:46 off a feed from freshman Natalie Dawes (Amesbury, Mass.) to give the Bison a 3-0 lead at the break. Nichols held a 25-1 advantage in shots through the opening 45 minutes.

In the second half, Rowe's second of the day and third of the season at 66:43 extended the lead to 4-0. Goals by Tosti at 84:54 and 87:24 closed the scoring.

"We played well. We moved the ball a lot better today," said Nichols head coach Damir Pesa. "We did a great job controlling the game and the pace of it, which is something we stressed yesterday. We took a lot of shots on goal, which is something we need to do."

The Bison outshot the Falcons 47-2 and had seven corner kicks. Ashley De Sousa (Hazlet, N.J.) had both shots for the Falcons.

The Bison return to action on Thursday when they host Fitchburg State at 4 p.m. The Falcons host Maine-Presque Isle Saturday at 1 p.m.
