Unfortunately for seniors
Shelby Aminti (Pepperell, Mass.),
Julie Monroe (Whitman, Mass.) and
Gabriella Sarkis (Springfield, Mass.)Â in their last home game, it was all Lions from the very beginning of this one.Â
In the second minute, freshman Kayla Aragon (Dover, N.J.) took a shot from deep outside the goal box that sailed over the head of junior goalie
Sarah Whitestone (Dalton, Mass.) to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Junior Abby Spitler (Gaithersburg, Md.) headed one in four minutes later off of a cross from junior Maleesa Santos (Colonie, N.Y.) to give the Lions a 2-0 advantage very early in the contest. The Lions added one more in the half at the 16-minute mark when freshman Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.) blasted one into the upper right corner of the net.
The second half started out similar to the first half as five minutes in, junior Gabby Humphreys (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) scored off of Santos's second assist of the contest to stretch the ENC lead to four.
The Bison had a couple opportunities in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Monroe took a free kick from the middle of the half and sent it over the defense.  Junior goaltender Savannah Sivert (Laytonsville, Md.) was able to get a hand on it and punched it over the goal to make the save.
The Lions iced the game in the 62nd minute when junior midfielder Jules Speno (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) scored on a penalty kick after a Nichols foul in the box.
The Bison had their last great opportunity five minutes later when freshman
Natalie Dawes (Amesbury, Mass.) passed it between two Lions defenders to junior
Bryanna Goodine (Dracut, Mass.), who broke away from the defenders and fired a shot high.
