DUDLEY, Mass. – Senior Jillian McQuiggan (Weymouth, Mass.) posted her 40th career doubles victory as she and first-year Michelle Keklik (Stratford, Conn.) rebounded from a 7-4 deficit to take the second doubles flight 9-7 as Nichols downed visiting Western New England in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's tennis contest on Saturday morning at Francis W. Robinson Courts. Nichols remains undefeated in CCC matches (4-0) and ups its record to 7-4 on the year. The Golden Bears slip to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in league action.
 
The top flight of senior Alex Cifone (Bristol, Conn.) and sophomore Lindsay Benoit (Holden, Mass.) as well as the third doubles flight consisting of senior Megan Woodruff (Morris, Conn.) and junior Erin Rivers (Bristol, Conn.) blanked their opponents 8-0 to quickly put the hosts ahead 2-0. With the triumph at the first flight, Benoit registered her 20th career doubles victory. Senior Alysha Lesieur (Hudson, N.H.) and junior Gillian Adams (Carmel, N.Y.) had the upper hand in the second flight before McQuiggan and Keklik rallied to take the flight.
 
Cifone took the second singles flight 6-0, 6-0 while Benoit won 6-1, 6-0.McQuiggan (6-2, 6-0), Woodruff (6-1, 6-1) and sophomore Samantha Rydell (Williamstown, Mass.) (6-2, 6-1) all claimed their respective flights. Sophomore Kasie Chapin (West Springfield, Mass.) delivered a point, and her first collegiate victory, for the Bison as she and junior Ashley Lauricella (Monroe, Conn.) went toe-to-toe in the first set as Chapin claimed the 7-6, 6-1 win.
 
Nichols and Western New England continue conference action on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The Bison travel to Salve Regina and the Golden Bears visit Curry.
