Alyssa Bufis scored the game-winning tally with 18.4 seconds showing on the scoreboard to help lead Nichols to an 11-10 victory on Thursday night over visiting Rhode Island College in a non-conference women's lacrosse tilt. The Bison even out at 7-7 while the Anchorwomen dip to 2-9 on the season.

Krista-Jean Forand led the Bison with five goals including three in the first 7:18 of play. Bufis and rookie
Grace Murphy each recorded a pair of markers and three ground balls. Murphy also pitched in with five draw controls and caused three turnovers. Senior
Chelsea Shaughnessy scooped up four ground balls and caused a trio of turnovers as classmate
Emily Yourie picked up a pair of ground balls and had a crosse in the final two tallies of the evening.
Senior Nicky Drolet netted five goals as sophomore Ashley Signoriello potted four to pace the Anchorwomen offensively. Sophomore Sam Nolte and senior Jenna Childs each came up with four ground balls as freshman Danielle Landon collected three. Childs would be a force on draw controls with five as Nolte forced three turnovers.
First-year
Erica Antonison and Forand teamed up to put the bison ahead 4-0 just 7:18 into the contest. The visitors then evened the game at 4-4 with 14:58 remaining in the opening stanza behind a pair of goals from Drolet and Signoriello. Bufis then put the hosts back in front with her first marker of the evening at 20:04. Signoriello and freshman Jessica Ricci each scored to put the Anchorwomen up 6-5 before a three goal spurt by the hosts took an 8-6 lead into the break.
Nichols would find the back of the net at 3:29 in the second frame on a free position shot by rookie
Sam MacMillan. Rhode Island College then went on a 4-0 run capped off by an eight-meter shot with 18:09 left in the half.
Facing a 10-9 deficit Forand evened the game at 10 apiece with 7:29 remaining in the contest. After a 7:11 scoring drought by both squads, Yourie came From behind the cage and dished to Bufis who found the upper left hand corner from the near side with 18.4 seconds showing on the scoreboard.
Nichols honors its four graduating seniors on Saturday when the Bison host Endicott for an 11:30 a.m. CCC contest. Rhode Island College heads to Simmons for a non-conference matchup on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
