Box Score HOLYOKE, Mass. (Apr. 10) – Senior
Dylan Courtney was spectacular as he batted 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles to help drive in three runs and score twice as Nichols used an eight-run seventh inning to top Elms, 12-7, in a non-conference baseball contest on Tuesday evening.
Elms pushed the first run of the game across on an infield miscue in the bottom of the first inning. Two more runs came in on back-to-back base hits while a ground out drove in the fourth tally of the frame for the hosts.
Junior
John Micciche, the recently minted CCC Player of the Week, put the Bison on the board in the second with a run-producing single. The Blazers grabbed the run back in the home portion of the inning on an RBI hit.
Both squads enjoyed a 1-2-3 third inning as first-year pitcher
Brett Lewis induced three infield ground outs.
Nichols plated another run in the fourth on an RBI-double on Courtney's second hit of the evening. The Bison continued to chip away at the Blazer lead as they pushed a run across following an infield miscue in the fifth.
After both teams went scoreless in the sixth, Nichols exploded in the top of the seventh with an eight run outburst. An Elms miscue helped bring in the initial tally. Courtney then delivered a pair of runs on a double for his third hit of the contest. Another mistake enabled the fourth run of the stanza to touch home. Sophomore

Bryan Gill doubled as each produced a pair of runs for the 11-5 advantage. The Blazers pushed two runners across home plate in the bottom of the frame on a two-run double.

Cody Jankins drove in an insurance tally on a single to center field in the top of the ninth.

James Curto and sophomore
Tyler Shute each spent time on the hill for the Bison. Curto picked up the win while Letellier and Shute combined to toss three scoreless innings as the duo recorded four of the six strikeouts by the staff.

Nick Shaw chipped in with a pair.
The Bison host Worcester State on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. for the spring “Play For A Cure” game.
