The Bison jumped out to a 3-0 lead within the first 7:25 of play. The first came as junior Wil Brown sniped the puck to the right of the netminder following a pass from the left side by first-year Mike Schiavone at 2:34. Nearly five minutes elapsed before Nichols struck again on first-year Louie Educate's 20th goal of the season. Junior Zach Kohn sent the puck up the ice to rookie Kyle Shapiro for the final feed to Educate. It took eleven more seconds to complete the Bison spurt. Senior Zach Hendrickson stole the puck to help setup senior Andrew Ella for the low shot.
