Box Score WENHAM, Mass. (Mar. 29) – The Gordon College men's lacrosse team held onto an early lead in a 14-8 The Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over visiting Nichols Tuesday afternoon. The Scots improve to 4-4 overall and 3-0 in TCCC games, while Nichols dips to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in conference action.

Nichols received two goals each from Austin Healy (Westford, Mass.) and Brian Girard (Norwood, Mass.), and was led by a three-point night by Brian Gattie (Plainfield, N.H.).

Gordon held a 5-2 lead after the first quarter and carried a 7-3 advantage into halftime. The Scots padded their lead in the third quarter with a five-goal outburst and held off the Bison, who scored four goals in the fourth – including a pair of man-up goals 10 seconds apart -- for the 14-8 final.

Bison netminder Scott Gray (Annapolis, Md.) made 22 saves in the loss. Tim Dooley (Tewksbury, Mass.) won six of 10 faceoffs, while Gattie and Elwin McCarthy (Duxbury, Mass.) were groundball leaders with four each.

Nichols returns home Thursday in a 4 p.m. non-conference game against Becker.
