Box Score WENHAM, Mass. – The Nichols College women's lacrosse team is still searching for its first The Commonwealth Coast Conference win after a 13-3 loss at Gordon College Tuesday evening. First-year attacker Rachel Storey (Cumberland, Maine) led the Bison with a goal and an assist, as Nichols dips to 3-7 overall and 0-6 in conference games. Gordon improves to 4-6 overall, with a 4-1 record in league games.
Arianna Perotti (No. Scituate, R.I.) and Brittany Tremont (Guilford, Conn.) also scored for the Bison. Goaltender Mary Michaud (Agawam, Mass.) made four saves in net.
Katie Knaus paced the Scots with four goals, while Annie Cameron added three and a pair of assists. Danielle Zorn and Kylie Hardin each added two goals, with Zorn also tallying an assist. In goal, Chyanne Wilson made four saves in the win.
Gordon scored five goals before Nichols got on the board on a Tremont tally with 18:56 left in the first half. The Scots went on a five-goal run to end the half with a 10-1 lead.
The Scots opened the second half with back-to-back goals before Storey hit a free-position shot to make the score 12-2 in favor of the home team. Gordon added another tally, but Perrotti clicked on a goal with 33 seconds left for the final 13-3 score.
Gordon maintained a 21-8 advantage in shots and a 16-4 lead in draw controls. Turnovers were close between the two teams with Nichols recording 23 to Gordon's 19. The Scots picked up 25 groundballs to the Bison's 15.
Nichols continues conference play on Saturday when the Bison host Colby-Sawyer at 11 a.m.
