The Framingham offense applied pressure in the opening half as the Rams outshot the Bison, 8-4, but they were unable to capitalize on any of their scoring chances.
Nichols (1-0) picked up its offensive intensity in the second half and after several quality scoring chances, the Bison were finally able capitalize when Gray moved through the Rams defense and found the back of the net.
Senior goaltender Sarah Levesque (Ludlow, Mass.) made four saves on the day to pick up the win, while Kate Simonelli made five saves in the loss.
Nichols continues its four-game road trip with a 3:30 p.m. game at Newbury College on Tuesday.
