Box Score DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's soccer team remained unbeaten at home with a 5-0 victory over Regis Saturday night at Vendetti Field. The win marks the fourth in a row for the Bison, who improve to 6-3-0 overall and to 2-2-0 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference action. Regis drops to 1-8-0 and 0-4-0 in league play. First-year defender Laurel Houle (Brooklyn, Conn.) led the Bison with a goal and an assist.
Houle slipped in a low cross from Chelsea Shaughnessy (Halifax, Mass.) in the in the 13th minute to put the Bison on the board.
Kaila Gray (Pembroke, N.H.) headed in a loose ball in the 50th minute for the 2-0 lead in the 50th minute, marking her team lead-tying fourth on the season.
Holly Ventura (Hudson, Mass.) gave Nichols a 3-0 lead six minutes later when she lofted in a pass from Jessica Ferris (Springfield, Mass.). Houle added a header that deflected off a defender in the 80th minute before Melissa Mendall (Quincy, Mass.) scored with a long kick with Kaleigh Rhoades (Florence, Mass.) picking up the assist.
Sarah Levesque (Ludlow, Mass.) made two saves in her sixth win and fourth shutout of the season, while Regis netminder Jackie Sullivan (Naples, Fla.) stopped 12 Bison shots.
Nichols is back in action in Tuesday against Curry in a 4 p.m. home game. Regis plays at Salve Regina on October 1st in a TCCC game.
