Nichols College Athletics

First year Emily Widdison (Greenfield, Mass.) scored nine and a half minutes into overtime to lift the Nichols College field hockey team to a 2-1 overtime victory over New England College in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game at Vendetti Field. Widdison was a defensive presence for a Bison team that allowed only 13, and just seven on net, in two victories during the week. The win marks the first for the Bison over New England College since 2003, and puts Nichols alone atop the conference standings. With her performance, Widdison was also named The Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week.
