Tyler Hundley

Tyler Hundley was named head coach of the Nichols College men’s basketball program on May 16, 2024.

During his tenure on The Hill, Hundley has continued to foster a competitive culture with a 28-25 (.528) record since the 2024-25 campaign, including CNE Tournament appearances in each of his two seasons at the helm. Most recently in 2025-26, the Bison made major strides with a 15-12 (9-8 CNE) overall record, which included a double-overtime victory over No. 23 ranked Wesleyan University, 86-83, and the program's first postseason victory since the 2022-23 campaign over No. 5 Roger Williams University in the CNE Tournament First Round, with Nichols hosting as the No. 4 seed. For both Hundley and the Bison, their victory over No. 23 Wesleyan also marked back-to-back seasons with an upset of a ranked opponent, while Nichols' CNE Tournament appearance went down as the 14th straight for the program.

Alongside their improvements in 2025-26, the Bison finished the season as the second-highest scoring program in the CNE, with a total of 2,226 points scored and an 82.4 points-per-game average, with the third highest field goal percentage (46.4%). Nichols also ranked second in the conference in both three-point field goal percentage (35.5%), and held the best percentage at the free throw line (77.0%).

Since taking the helm, Hundley has mentored five players who have earned All-CNE honors, including Defensive Player of the Year, Ryan Savoy (2024-25), two-time First Team selection, Javen Flowers-Smith (2024-26), and All-CNE Second Team honorees Dominic Mello (2025-26) and Simon Percy (2024-25). Additionally, Hundley's Bison have had three CSC Academic All-District recipients, and a two-time CNE Player of the Week (Javen Flowers-Smith).

Prior to Nichols, Hundley spent five seasons as head coach at Worcester State, compiling an 82–55 overall record and a 45–15 mark in conference play. He led the Lancers to back-to-back MASCAC regular season and tournament championships in 2022–23 and 2023–24, highlighted by a program-record 22-win season, a perfect conference record, and an NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in 2022–23. Over his tenure, he coached multiple All-Conference selections, including a Conference Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and All-American, and was named MASCAC Coach of the Year three times in four seasons. Hundley began his head coaching tenure by building Worcester State into a contender, guiding the program to two championship game appearances and a then-program record for conference wins during his first three seasons.

Before Worcester State, Hundley spent three seasons at Keene State College, where he served as both an assistant coach and later associate head coach. He played a key role in the program’s success, helping the Owls reach the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 and Elite Eight while coordinating recruiting and overseeing player development, scouting, and academic progress. He also held assistant coaching positions at Lasell University, and Salve Regina University.

A graduate of Eastern Connecticut State, Hundley earned his degree in Sports and Leisure Management and was a member of the Warriors team that advanced to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16.
