Sebastian Noordzy was named the seventh head coach in the history of the Nichols College men’s volleyball program on April 17, 2026.
Noordzy brings a strong background in NCAA Division III coaching, program development, and student-athlete mentorship to Dudley. He most recently served as the head women’s volleyball coach at Salve Regina University, where he led all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, scheduling, and program operations. During his tenure, Noordzy built a competitive and academically successful program, highlighted by a 3.64 team GPA and consistent roster retention. He also secured over $40,000 in fundraising support to enhance the student-athlete experience.
A proven recruiter and culture-builder, Noordzy developed recruiting pipelines throughout the Northeast and beyond, signing 25 student-athletes and significantly improving roster depth. His emphasis on accountability, leadership, and holistic development helped elevate the program’s competitiveness during its transition into the NEWMAC.
Prior to his time at Salve Regina, Noordzy served as an assistant coach at Johnson & Wales University, where he played a key role in a 29–5 season that culminated in a GNAC Championship and an NCAA Regional Final appearance. He assisted in coaching four All-American student-athletes while contributing to scouting, match preparation, and in-game strategy.
Noordzy also gained valuable experience on the men’s side as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Rhode Island. There, he helped support a nationally competitive program that achieved a top-five regional ranking and captured the 2019 NCVF Division I-AA National Championship.
Recognized as one of the top young coaches in the country, Noordzy was named an AVCA 30 Under 30 Award recipient in 2023. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Rhode Island and maintains certifications in USA Volleyball IMPACT, SafeSport, and First Aid/CPR/AED.
