Nicole Simeone '15

Nicole Simeone ’15 begins her fifth season as an assistant coach with the Nichols College field hockey team in 2022.

The Bison won seven games in 2021, often times playing with only 10 student-athletes on the field. Eight student-athletes were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad, two of which – Mackenzie Doran and Emily LeBlanc – garnered National Academic Squad honors.

The 2020 campaign was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and competed in four four scrimmages games during the spring. Off the turf, five Bison received both Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and NFHCA Academic honors. Doran was named an NFHCA Division III Scholar of Distinction.

In 2019, fourteen Nichols College student-athletes were named to the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad while three – Mackenzie Doran, Hailey Meader, and Erin Kelley – were Scholars of Distinction. Kelley was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Scholar Athlete of the Year while MacKenzie McDonald was a CCC Second Team pick for the second-consecutive season.

The Bison won eight games for the second-consecutive fall in 2018 and 10 student-athletes were named to the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad – including Erin Kelley, who was named to the Scholars of Distinction List. Additionally, four student-athletes – Brooke Misbach, Lizz McKinnon, Mackenzie Snow, and MacKenzie McDonald – garnered Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference honors.

Simeone was a four-year member of the Nichols field hockey program who earned CCC First Team honors as a junior in 2013 and Second Team honors in 2014. In 67 career games on defense, Simeone tallied seven points (2-3-7) – all during her senior campaign – as well as six defensive saves. She was a member of the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad as a freshman in 2011.

Simeone graduated in 2015 with a degree in sport management. As an undergrad, she was a manager for the softball program as well as a work-study student for the Athletic Communications Department. Simeone earned her Master’s degree from Nichols in 2016.
