Nichols College Athletics

Liam Murphy enters his first season as a graduate assistant coach for the Nichols College football program in 2026. 

Murphy is no stranger to The Hill, where he was a four-year mainstay with the Bison as a tight end. Throughout his collegiate career, Murphy appeared in collegiate contests during the 2023, 2024, and 2025 seasons while serving as a dependable member of the offense and special teams units. He made his collegiate debut against Husson in 2023 before appearing in one game during the 2024 campaign and two contests as a senior in 2025.

Off the field, Murphy excelled in the classroom, earning Conference of New England (CNE) Academic All-Conference honors in 2024. A native of Abington, Massachusetts, and graduate of Abington High School, he was a member of the National Honor Society and helped lead his high school program to a 2019 state championship and a 2020-21 league title before continuing his academic and athletic career at Nichols. He has even been seen making an impact off campus, including donating through the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) to help provide a potential second chance at life for a patients battling leukemia.

Murphy now brings his experience as a Nichols student-athlete and his understanding of the Bison football program to the coaching staff.
