Kelsey Buckley was named the 14th head coach of the Nichols College field hockey program on March 27, 2025.
In her first season with the program in 2025, Ramsay and the Bison finished the campaign with a 6-14 overall record, going 2-5 in CNE play. The Bison, after a one-year hiatus in 2024, returned to the conference postseason as the No. 6 seed in the tournament following a 3-0 shutout of Gordon College on October 25th, where they then faced off against No. 3 seeded University of New England in the opening round. Under Ramsay's tutelage, two members of the program were announced as recipients of All-CNE postseason honors; graduate student Merle Steinau (Second Team - Defense), and senior Taylor Breen (Third Team - Midfield).
Prior to joining the Bison, Buckley spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Wheaton College field hockey program. During her tenure with the Lyons, she helped mentor an NFHCA First Team All-American, a NEWMAC First Team All-Conference selection, and a NEWMAC Second Team honoree.
Success extended beyond the field, as Wheaton student-athletes excelled academically under her guidance. Over her two seasons, the program produced 11 NFHCA Scholars of Distinction, 27 selections to the NFHCA National Academic Squad, and 21 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honorees.
In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Buckley has worked with the New England Stars Field Hockey Club and holds her NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
A 2018 graduate of Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science, Buckley enjoyed an outstanding playing career as one of the most accomplished offensive players in program history. She concluded her career ranked 10th in program history with 64 career points and sixth all-time with 29 goals. A three-year starter and team co-captain, Buckley appeared in 68 career games while helping lead the Lyons throughout her four-year career.
Buckley also excelled in the classroom, earning National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic honors on multiple occasions while being recognized as a NEWMAC Academic All-Conference selection.
