Julia Calvin begins her first year as a Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Nichols College in 2026.
Calvin lands on The Hill from Chatham University, where she graduated with a 3.97 GPA and was a four-time Dean's List honoree. During her time at Chatham, she served as a strength and conditioning intern, assisting with training sessions for the university's varsity athletic programs. Her responsibilities included leading warm-ups, guiding student-athletes through lifts, and providing technical instruction, encouragement, and coaching cues to foster a positive and productive training environment.
In the summer of 2025, Calvin completed a strength and conditioning internship with the Portland State University football program. There, she assisted with daily weight room and field session operations, including workout setup and breakdown, performance testing, data collection, and implementing injury modifications. She also worked closely with coaches to provide instruction and motivation throughout training sessions.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Calvin was a captain of the Chatham University women's basketball team, where she developed the leadership, communication, and teamwork skills that continue to shape her coaching philosophy.
Calvin is CPR certified and is currently pursuing her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Calvin earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Chatham University in 2026.
