Nichols College Athletics

Grace Melanson enters her second season as a volunteer assistant with the women’s ice hockey coaching staff in 2026-27. 

A former player for the Bison, she was a consistent contributor throughout her collegiate career. Melanson appeared in 100 career games at Nichols, and enjoyed her most productive offensive season as a graduate student in 2024-25, recording nine goals and six assists for 15 points while skating in all 25 games. Her season included a career-best four-goal performance against Framingham State and a strong finish with a three-point effort against UNE.

During the 2023-24 season, Melanson served as an assistant captain and totaled seven points on two goals and five assists, while also contributing at both ends of the ice with a strong faceoff presence and defensive reliability. In 2022-23, she added 13 points on seven goals and six assists, continuing her role as a steady offensive presence for the Bison.

Melanson began her Nichols career in 2021-22, appearing in 21 games and recording seven points while quickly establishing herself as a dependable two-way forward.

A graduate of Nichols College, Melanson brings extensive program experience and leadership as she transitions into her first coaching role with the Bison.
