Leon Lopez begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Nichols College women’s soccer program in 2016.
Lopez was previously the junior varsity coach at Hartsbrook Middle School for two years. Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Lopes began his collegiate playing career at Herkimer Community College, where he was a Second Team All-America pick during his first season and a First Team All-America pick in his second.
Lopez went on the play at American International College in Springfield, Mass. He was an All-America soccer student-athlete for the Yellow Jackets and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
