Danielle Dakin begins her second season as an assistant coach with the Nichols College women’s soccer program in 2018.
In her first season as an assistant coach in 2017, the Bison improved on their win total from a year ago and saw nine student-athletes named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference Team. The team more than doubled its offensive output under Gurnon and increased its conference winning percentage by nearly a full point.
Dakin was a four-year member of the UConn Huskies women’s soccer program who appeared in 80 collegiate matches on defense. As a sophomore, Dakin was a CoSIDA District 1 Academic All-America Second Team pick before playing every minute of the 2011 season as a junior, where she collected three points (1-1-3) and helped the Huskies post five shutouts. Dakin collected a pair of assists as a senior and helped UConn posted a team goals against average (GAA) of 1.95.
