Lindsey Howland begins her first season as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Nichols College in 2018-19.
Howland is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Biological Science at UMass Lowell after receiving her B.S. in Applied Exercise Science from the University of New England in 2017. She was a four-year member of the Nor’easters basketball program (2013-17), helping them to four Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship and NCAA Tournament appearances, twice reaching the Second Round. Howland appeared in 68 games during her career (28 starts) and averaged career-highs in both points and rebounds as a senior.
“It is with great pleasure that I announce the addition of coach Howland to our Bison women’s basketball family,” said Skarzenski of Howland, who spent one year as an assistant boy’s varsity coach at Quabbin Regional H.S. (2017-18). “Lindsey’s experience as a player at the University of New England will be a great asset to our program. She knows how to win and what it takes to be part of a championship program. She is someone who earned every minute of playing time through her hard work, dedication on both ends of the floor, and willingness to be a great teammate. She will be able to impact our program immediately because of her experience as a player and her IQ of the game, ability to communicate effectively, and positive demeanor.”
