  • Title
    Women's Basketball Assistant Coach
Jack Casey joined the Nichols College women's basketball staff in October of 2017, and begins his second season in Dudley in 2018-19.

In his first season, Casey helped the Bison double their win total from the previous campaign. Four of her student-athletes earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference honors while Allison Cerrato garnered CCC Third Team accolades.

Casey came to Dudley with plenty of coaching experience as the Division III and high school level, most recently serving as an assistant coach at Mitchell College under MaryLynn Skarzenski in 2016.

Prior to working at Mitchell, Casey spent four years working at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Conn., including three years as the head coach. While with the Blue Jays, Casey helped the team qualify for the GNAC Tournament in 2013-14 and coached one All-Conference player as well as 12 Academic All-Conference selections. The teams were actively involved in community service activities, hosting events to raise awareness and financial support for research for Alzheimer’s and Breast Cancer, and through their participation and leadership in annual youth clinics and programs to celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day.

Before his time at Saint Joseph, Casey was the head coach at Mount Ida in Newton, Mass. During his tenure, the Mustangs qualified for the GNAC conference tournament for first time in school history in 2010-11 as the eighth seed and again as the fifth seed in 2011-12. The team’s 14 wins in 2011-12 were the most in program history. Overall, Casey’s teams were 40-57 at Mount Ida.

Before Mount Ida, Casey was the head coach of the Simsbury High School girls’ basketball program for eight years, where he compiled an overall record of 87-86 in the state's largest school class (LL). While at Simsbury, he coached 13 players who went on to play college basketball at the Division I through III levels. He also was the assistant boys’ basketball coach at Simsbury for six years before taking over the girls’ program. Additionally, Casey was the head softball coach at Simsbury for 16 years, compiling a record of 191-124 and twice taking teams to the state semi-finals.

Coach Casey received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H., where he was a member of the men's basketball team for four years and served as captain his senior year (1975-76).Â
