Ava Limonciello was named the interim head coach of the Nichols women's basketball program in November of 2025, having previously servedĀ as a graduate assistant during the 2024-25.
Liminciello stepped into the role following her time as a graduate assistant coach with the Bison, where she played an integral role in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, and game preparation. While with the program, she has helped cultivate a competitive and cohesive team culture, which helped guide Nichols to a 13ā12 (6-10 CNE) overall record in 2025-26, marking the programās second consecutive winning season. The campaign was highlighted by a two-time CNE Player of the Week selection in senior Alyvia Smith, who also garnered Second Team All-Conference recognition from the CNE following the regular season. The team also broke a record on the season, including single-game three-point field goals by a player (9 - Alyvia Smith at Wentworth on 2/3).Ā
A native of Waltham, Massachusetts, Limonciello brings a solid base of experience to The Hill following three seasons with Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. During her time with the Tigers, she was a four-time SCAC Conference Champion, a two-time SCAC All-Academic Team honoree, and went along for two NCAA Tournament appearances (Elite 8 and Sweet 16). During the 2021-22 season, she finished the year with career-highs in rebounds (54), assists (53) and three-pointers made (25).
Ava earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a minor in Sports Management from Trinity Univeristy, andĀ is currently pursuing her MBA at Nichols.Ā
