Lindsay Gauthier

Lindsay Gauthier begins her fourth season as an assistant coach with the Nichols College softball team in 2021.

Nichols was off to a hot start in 2020 before the season was canceled due to COVID-19. The Bison split their six games at the PFX Spring Games in Clermont, Florida, highlighted by wins over Bridgewater State and Keuka on the final day of competition. Offensively, the Bison posted a team batting average of .284 and scored 31 runs in six games (5.2 runs/game) behind seven RBI from graduate student Jessica Kuelling and senior Alexandria Rodi.

The Bison won 17 games in 2019 and won a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) playoff contest for the second-straight season, defeating Western New England in the opening round. Nichols struck out 169 batters – the third-highest mark in program history – while the team’s 2.77 earned run average (ERA) was the fourth-best mark. The Bison placed six student-athletes on the CCC Academic All-Conference Team while two more – Alexis Ferris and Samantha Kostek – garnered CCC All-Conference honors.

In 2018, Gauthier helped the softball program to 16 wins – including its first playoff win since the 2008 campaign. The Bison defeated Curry (3-1) and Gordon (1-0) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) playoffs and were one of the final four teams remaining in the tournament.

Gauthier is a 2003 graduate of Western New England University, where she was a four-year member of the softball program as a third baseman/DH. As a junior, she batted .350 with 36 hits. In 2002, she was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Second Team and the All-Tournament Team.

For her career, Gauthier held a .280 batting average with 68 hits, 10 doubles, two home runs, and 36 RBI. IN 2003, she appeared in the NCAA Division III College World Series in Salem, Va.

Gauthier – who previously coached at Ludlow H.S. for four years – went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Sport Management from Springfield College.
