Jim Skowronek

Jim Skowronek begins his third season with the softball program and first as an assistant coach at Nichols College in 2019.

In 2018, Skowronek helped the softball program to 16 wins – including its first playoff win since the 2008 campaign. The Bison defeated Curry (3-1) and Gordon (1-0) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) playoffs and were one of the final four teams remaining in the tournament.

Skowronek was instrumental in the continued development of sophomore Alexis Ferris, a CCC First Team pick in 2017 after fanning a school-record 142 batter. She won 11 games and struck out 129 batters in 2018, which is the second highest single-season mark in program history.

The Bison recorded their first .500 season in six years in 2017 and qualified for the CCC playoffs for the fourth-straight season. Skowronek was instrumental in the development of Ferris, who won 13 games and finished with a conference-best 1.67 earned run average (ERA).
