Hayden West-Mather

Hayden West-Mather enters his first season as a co-Head Coach for the Nichols women's and men's volleyball programs in 2024-25.

In his first campaign as a co-Head Coach for the men's program, West-Mather worked alongside fellow co-Head Coach Emme Price to lead the program to a 21-15 overall record, including a 14-4 mark since taking the helm on February 24th. The 2025 spring also saw West-Mather and the Bison capture its third consecutive New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) Championship title, earning them the automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Tournament. Once there, the Bison continued their winning ways with a 3-1 play-in round victory over Randolph-Macon College, the team's first ever NCAA Tournament victory, a day before pulling off a major upset of No. 3 ranked Stevens Institute of Technology by the same score, becoming the first team in NCAA DIII Men's Volleyball history to eliminate the host institution in the first round. Despite their epic postseason run ending the following day, West-Mather also helped coach three All-NEVC First Team Selections in Tanner Soracco, Jack Normandin and Dylan Knapp, with the program rising to No. 17 nationally in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll of the spring on May 3rd.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Boston with a bachelor's degree in business management, Hayden has demonstrated excellence in coaching. Hayden has served as the head coach of Beantown Volleyball Club, leading the Boys' 18's and Girls' 17's teams. Working under Peter Suxho, former Albanian National Team coach and father of former Team USA Olympic setter Donald Suxho as an assistant coach at Natick High School, Hayden gained valuable knowledge from an international perspective. He has experience working with top prospects from around the United States, Canada, and Europe, who have gone on to compete at the highest levels of collegiate volleyball.
