Dominic Ambrosino ’21 returns for his second season as a graduate assistant with the Nichols College men’s lacrosse program in 2023.
The 2022 edition of the Bison men’s lacrosse program won eight games, including a 10-9 triumph at Salve Regina in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Quarterfinals – the first playoff win in program history. Four student-athletes – Cian Keohane, Hunter Ferreira, Scott Ehrenberg, and Nick Gualtieri – were named to the all-conference team while 12 more grabbed academic all-conference honors.
Nichols saw three student-athletes set a total of five single-season records in 2022. Keohane broke a 48-year old record with his 52 goals, Colby Gillis dished out 46 assists which broke the previous mark of 42, a record which stood for 41 years. Ehrenberg, meanwhile, set records for face-off wins (258), ground balls (136), and face-off winning pct. (.596).
A 2021 graduate of Nichols College with a degree in marketing, Ambrosino appeared in 47 career games for the Bison (2018-21) and collected 80 ground balls as a long stick defender for former head coach Eric Gobiel and current bench boss John Carroll.
The Shrewsbury, Mass. native collected a career-high 35 GB’s as a freshman to go with seven caused turnovers in 17 games. The following season, Ambrosino appeared in 13 games and notched 26 ground balls, including a career-high six against both Saint Joseph’s (Me.) and Curry.
The abbreviated 2020 campaign saw Ambrosino record 13 ground balls in six games before racking up six ground balls and five caused TO’s in 11 games this past spring.
