James Ford, Jr. begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Nichols College men’s basketball program in 2021-22.
Ford most recently served as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program at Albertus Magnus College (2016-18), helping the Falcons capture the 2017 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. During that span, Ford assisted the head coach in all coaching, administrative, fundraising, and public relations activities. Additionally, he helped the student-athletes adjust to the demands and challenges inherent to playing college basketball.
A 2016 graduate of Quinnipiac College with a B.A. in Criminal Justice, Ford was a four-year member of the Bobcats men’s basketball team. The Hopewell, Virginia native appeared in 98 career games (47 starts) and averaged 4.8 ppg and 2.3 rpg while competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Ford – a team captain as a senior – poured in a career-high 18 points against both Rider and Monmouth as a junior.
