Michael Pina ’20 begins his second season as a graduate assistant coach with the Nichols College football program in 2021. He will work with the wide receivers and specialists.

Pina completed his two-year career at Nichols No. 1 in completions (355) and completion percentage (56.7), and No. 2 in passing yards (4,221) and passing touchdowns (36). A Worcester Area First Team selection in 2019, Pina established single-season records for both completion pct. He received the New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Award (10/28) following a 329-yard, three-touchdown effort in a four-OT win at UNE on October 26 and was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Week two weeks later.

In his first year in Dudley in 2018, Pina started all 10 games and threw for 1,551 yards (seventh in program history) and 15 touchdowns (fourth in program history). He threw at least one touchdown in the final nine games of the season, highlighted by a 256-yard, three-touchdown performance against Alfred St. on September 22.

Pina and his father own QB Velocity, a family business which provides athletes with the tools to succeed on and off the field.
