Jeff Stephens

Jeffrey Stephens begins his second season as a graduate assistant football coach at Nichols College in 2020.

A native of Salem, Virginia, Stephens was a four-year starter at Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia. He closed his career as a defensive lineman with 259 tackles (146 solo), 27.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Stephens’ best statistical season came as a freshman in 2013, when he racked up a single-season program record 95 tackles (66 solo) to go with a pair of forced fumbles. He was tabbed Great Midwest Defensive Player of the Week on October 3, 2016 after notching a game-high 11 tackles – four of which were for a loss – along with two sacks and a forced fumble against Fort Valley State.

The following season, he notched 67 tackles (34 solo) and again forced a pair of fumbles. Stephens recorded 13 sacks over his final two years for the Battlers.

A 2017 graduate of Alderson Broaddus University, Stephens coached in a top division in Switzerland before arriving in Dudley.
