Mike Mason begins his third on "The Hill" and was elevated to the Associate Director Athletics role in the Spring of 2025. Mason will oversee the scheduling and transportation duties for the Bison moving forward in his new role.Â
Mason joined the Bison in the 2023-24 season as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications, working with the Football, Field Hockey, Men's & Women's Ice Hockey programs, Baseball team, and the Men's & Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Teams. Mason also oversaw the Social Media Strategy for the 2024-25 season when he was elevated to the Director of Content Creation, Social Media, and Branding for the Division of Athletics. Mason created graphics, videos, and media for all 24 varsity athletic teams for the College in the 2024-25 season.Â
Mason has spent the past two years working as the Athletic Communications Assistant at Union College in Schenectady, New York. During this time, Mason served as the primary contact for the Division I Women’s Ice Hockey program along with the Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country teams, Men’s and Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Teams, Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams, and the Women’s Softball team. Mason also gained additional experience working at the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Regional (Rounds 2 and 3) games in 2021-22 and 2022-23, as Union was named a host site, and took photos for Union during the 2021-22 Division III Men’s Lacrosse National Championship game. His regional experience also continues with helping at the Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Regional Rounds held in Albany, New York during the 2021-22 campaign.Â
Mason worked as a student worker and then an intern in the Sports Information Department at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine for three years, which included experience in public address and play-by-play broadcasting. In addition to earning a bachelor’s degree in health studies with a minor in Coaching from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in 2021, Mason then earned his master’s degree in Sports Management in 2022 from Southern New Hampshire University. Mason ran both Cross Country and Track and Field for the Monks, being named captain his sophomore year for the Track and Field Team.
As an athlete, Mason earned GNAC All-Academic Honors in 2021 and GNAC All-Conference Honors in 2018. Mason was also the president of S.A.A.C. his junior and senior year.
