Nichols College Athletics

Zachary Player enters his second season as the Nichols College Baseball Pitching Coach in the 2024 season.

Player was apart of Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) team that went 49-3 en route to the school’s fifth NCAA Division III National Title in 2022.

He started his collegiate career at Franklin Pierce University, where held a 2-0 record on nine and two-thirds innings and a 1.86 ERA. He helped lead his team to a 33-15 season and received honors of being named to the Northeast 10 All-Rookie Team.

Player then transferred to ECSU and had a four-year playing career with the Warriors. He finished with a 3-1 record, logging 54.1 innings pitched and hooked 65 of the batters he faced. He held batters to a .230 batting average and he only let up a total of three home runs.

Player is no stranger to coaching as he recently served a pitching coach for the Connecticut Crush 16U.

The 2022 ECSU graduate brings with him a Bachelors in Criminology.
