Women's Volleyball Battle Rams in Three-Set Loss

BOSTON, Mass. (9/8/2026) – The Nichols College women's volleyball team fell in straight sets against the Framingham University Rams tonight at Logan Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Bison fall to 0-4 overall on the season while the Rams improve to 3-1.

Sophomore Alyssa Morse and freshman Rayna Joquin led the Bison offense with four kills each, while junior Lilana Bottone added three. Bottone also led Nichols from the service line with two aces. Freshman setter Lena Heini recorded seven assists, while freshman Naseem Hennouch and senior Elizabeth Mullen each contributed three. First-year Kaitlyn Rodrigues anchored the Bison backline with a team-high 10 digs, followed by Heini with six and Bottone with five.

The Rams opened the match with a demanding run, building an early five-point lead before a kill from Bottone halted the momentum. Framingham continued to attack, opening the frame with a 12-4 advantage. The Rams stayed on the offensive and quickly closed out the first set, 25-9.

The Bison looked to bounce back in the second set, earning their first lead of the match following a kill from Jhudny Pierre. Framingham responded with a strong offensive showing, reclaiming the lead midway through the set. Determined to extend the match, Nichols pushed back as Bottone scored three crucial points to put the Bison ahead 16-15. The Rams, however, continued to build momentum and slowly extended their advantage, taking the second set, 25-19.

The Bison battled early in the third set, staying within one point at 6-5. Nichols continued to fight behind kills from Alyssa Morse and Rayna Joquin, but the Rams began to pull away midway through the set. Framingham State built a 20-8 advantage before Nichols answered with a few points, including a kill from Joquin. The Rams ultimately closed out the set, 25-11, to complete the straight-set victory.

The Bison will be on the road for their next matchup against Keene State College on Thursday, September 10th, at the Spaulding Gymnasium at 6:00 PM.
