PROVIDENCE, R.I. (9/25/2026) - Playing through an absolute nor'easter, Nichols College Men's Rugby battled the elements and Providence College on the road, delivering a dominant 69-0 shutout victory behind 11 tries and another strong performance from the Bison attack.
Driving rain and difficult conditions did little to slow Nichols from the opening whistle.
Freshman Jimmy McGreggor opened the scoring with the first try of the afternoon before Roman Legere crossed the line for the Bison's second. Noah Demuele followed with the third try of the match as Nichols quickly established control.
McGreggor found the try zone for a second time before Cam Chapman added Nichols' fifth try of the half. Legere then closed out the first-half scoring with his second try, sending the Bison into the break with a commanding 40-0 advantage.
The conditions remained difficult after halftime, but the Nichols attack kept rolling.
Garret Portesi opened the second-half scoring before McGreggor crossed the line for his third try of the afternoon, completing the hat trick. Portesi then added his second try of the half, followed by scores from Nate Noyes and Braven Peiler to close out the 69-0 victory.
Chapman once again played a major role in the Bison offense, converting seven of eight attempts from the tee and finishing the match with 24 points. After recording 42 points against Bryant during Homecoming, Chapman has now accumulated an impressive 66 points over the last two matches.
McGreggor's three-try performance earned him A-Side Man of the Match honors. The freshman has now scored five tries over Nichols' last two matches, continuing an impressive start to his Bison career.
