HAMDEN, Conn. (9/24/2026) – Junior Delaney Giesen tied for first place individually as the Nichols College women's golf team earned a nine-stroke victory at the Albertus Magnus College Fall Invitational on Thursday at New Haven Country Club.
The Bison finished at 82-over par to lead the three-team field, ahead of host Albertus Magnus (+91) and Eastern Connecticut State (+113). All four Nichols golfers placed inside the top nine.
Nichols' total was 25 shots better relative to par than the 107-over performance Albertus Magnus posted at the same course in April, which established a program record for the Falcons at the time.
Giesen paced the Bison with a 12-over-par 83 round, sharing the top spot in the 12-player field with Albertus Magnus' Molly Martin and Gabriella Dellacroce.
Junior captain Isabella Fleury followed with a fifth-place finish at 20-over par 91, while freshman Isabelle Deurquiza finished two strokes behind her in sixth at 22-over. Junior Eva Melanson rounded out the Nichols lineup in ninth place at 28-over par.
Women's golf returns to action on Sunday, September 27, at the University of Hartford Indiand Hill Invitational in West Hartford, Connecticut.
