SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (9/10/2026) – The Nichols men's golf team captured a tie for seventh place finish at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by American International College (AIC) at the par-72, 6,507-yard Ledges Golf Club.
The tournament, which featured nine competing regional programs across NCAA Division II and III, consisted of a 36-hole opening day on Wednesday, September 9
th, before finishing with a single 18-hole round on Thursday. The Bison landed in a tie for seventh with AIC's "B" squad at 87-over par 951, while Bentley University captured the team medal at 793 ().
Nichols landed three individual players next to each other in the leaderboard, beginning with sophomore
Tyler Labonte and senior
Brady Salah in a two-way tie for 28
th, with each carding a 17-over 233 across the three rounds. The two Bison combined for seven birdies throughout the tournament, with Salah closing out with an even-par performance in the final round. Close behind was fellow senior
Nick White, who finished 30
th at 18-over par 234, combining round scores of 78 (+6), 79 (+7) and 77 (+5) with five birdies.
Freshman
Liam Frisbie rebounded in the final round by eight strokes to complete a 42-over par 258 performance, which earned him a tie for 49
th individually. Rounding out the list of Bison competitors was sophomore
Logan Rawson, who carded a 259 (+43) to place 51
st. The two players combined for six birdies during play, with Frisbie scoring three in the front nine of the opening round on Wednesday.
Up next, men's golf will compete at the 7
th Annual Warrior Invitational, hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University. The tournament will be held on September 13-14, and will be played at Mohegan Sun Golf Club in Baltic, Connecticut.
