DUDLEY, Mass. (5/6/2026) – The Nichols College baseball program is in national headlines for the second straight week, as junior right-hand pitcher
Mitch Brown was named to the
D3Baseball.com National Team of the Week in the relief pitcher position for the final team of the week of the 2026 season. This is the Nichols baseball program's second straight recognition on the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week, with junior
Adam Pivacek being named to the team of the week in the designated hitter position last week.
This is Brown's second honor received this week after being named Conference of New England (CNE) Pitcher of the Week on Monday, alongside his teammate
Jack Raymond earning Conference of New England Rookie of the Week.
Brown appeared in three games last week all in relief roles, earning the win in two of those games to go 2-0 on the week. In the 6.1 innings pitched, he struck out nine batters for a strikeouts per game average of 12.79, allowed a 0.00 ERA, and only gave up four hits. The Windsor, Nova Scotia native's best game of the week came at Curry College on April 28th, when he came in at the bottom of the third inning to strike out seven of the 15 batters faced in 4.1 innings and allowed zero runs to record the win.
This is the baseball program's fourth member to be featured on the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week, with Christian Naccari being named on 3/19/2019, Jim Marasco on 3/7/2024, and Pivacek on 4/29/2026.
Brown now joins teammate Pivacek (4/29/2026) and Nichols football's wide receiver Jack Morvan (9/23/2025) as the three Bison to receive national recognition this academic year.
Brown and the Bison continue their Conference of New England playoff run on Thursday, May 7th, when they travel to Beverly, Massachusetts, to face No. 1 Endicott College in the Conference of New England tournament quarterfinals. First pitch is set for 12 PM.
