BEVERY, Mass. (5/4/2026) – The Nichols College baseball program saw two of their players honored with Conference of New England weekly honors, with junior pitcher
Mitch Brown earning CNE Pitcher of the Week and freshman outfielder
Jack Raymond earning CNE Rookie of the Week on May 4th.
The Windsor, Nova Scotia native, junior pitcher
Mitch Brown appeared in three games last week in a relief role, earning the win in two of those games to go 2-0 on the week. In the 6.1 innings pitched, he struck out nine batters for a strikeouts per game average of 12.79, allowed a 0 ERA, and only gave up four hits.
Freshman outfielder
Jack Raymond started in four games this past week, where he went 7 for 16 with two doubles and two home runs for a .438 BA and .938 slugging percentage. The Enfield, Connecticut native ended the week with eight runs and four RBIs, and he did not strike out in any at bat this week. He was also walked 3 times and hit by a pitch once, for a .550 on-base percentage, and recorded two stolen bases in the week. He ended with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with nine putouts and one assist.
This is Brown and Raymond's first CNE weekly honor, joining
Adam Pivacek,
Collin Harty,
Clark Churchill, and
Charles MacElhiney as the six Bison to earn conference weekly honors this year.
Baseball will start their postseason play on Tuesday afternoon, when they host No. 5 Roger Williams University (16-21, CNE 9-9) in the first round of the
2026 Conference of New England Baseball Tournament. First pitch is set for 3 PM at the Nichols Baseball Field.
