Men’s Tennis Drops CNE Championship to No. 1 Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. (5/1/2026) - The Nichols College men's tennis team traveled to Bristol, Rhode Island on Friday afternoon as they were hosted by No. 1 Roger Williams University (RWU) for the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship. After a tight contest, the Bison ultimately fell to the Hawks as the runner-up program in the conference, blanked 4-0.

Following the loss, the Bison finished the season 12-7-1, 10-1 in CNE play. RWU jumps to a n 18-5 record overall, 10-1 in the conference.

Roger Williams secured the early advantage by taking two of three doubles matches to claim the opening point. The pairing of Felipe Gonzalez and Ezra Raphael earned Nichols' lone doubles victory with a 6-4 decision at No. 2, while the No. 1 and No. 3 spots went in favor of the Hawks.

In singles play, the Hawks clinched the match with three straight-set victories. Alexander Snitko dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision at No. 4, while Ezra Raphael fell in three sets at No. 5 after taking the opening frame. Andrew Emmel also pushed his match at No. 6 but came up short in straight sets.

The remaining singles contests went unfinished as the match was decided, with William Albrikes and Rodolfo Hernandez each in competitive positions in their respective matches.
