BEVERLY, Mass. (4/6/2026) - On Monday at 4:00 PM, the Conference of New England (CNE) announced their weekly award winners for the week of 3/30-4/4. Amongst the named winners was Nichols College men's tennis sophomore
Felipe Gonzalez whose competitiveness notched him the CNE Player of The Week award, a first in his collegiate career.
In conference games, Gonzalez appeared for both doubles and singles stints in games against Colby-Sawyer College (3/30) and Western New England University (4/3).Â
In his pairing for doubles against Colby-Sawyer, Gonzalez dominantly handled the match with a score of 6-1, going on to then win his singles match up, 7-5, 6-0. He then went on to replicate the same high-level of play against WNE, winning on doubles No. 2, 6-2. Playing at the top slot for the Bison in Singles, Gonzalez was instrumental in the overall win, posting a 6-0, 6-4 victory.
Gonzalez and men's tennis will next play at home on the Robinson Tennis Courts hosting Endicott College. The game will take place on Wednesday, April 8th at 4:00 PM. Additionally, the game will recognize the Staff & Faculty of Nichols College.
